About Stephen Davis
I am a passionate photographer and naturalist. I’ve had a fulfilling career working in nature conservation both in the UK and Europe. As an ecologist I have an interest in the interconnectedness of wildlife, habitats and ecosystems. I’ve always enjoyed photography as a natural complement to my interests in wildlife and landscape. I am committed to using photography to support wildlife conservation through illustrating and communicating the beauty and essential value of the natural world. I enjoy working with others and helping to illustrate how photography can enhance peoples experience and enjoyment of being immersed in nature. As a community I believe we have an important role to play in fostering a deep love for the natural world and in promoting the essential need to maintain and support nature in the face of many environmental challenges. A healthy, vibrant, rich natural world is fundamental to all our wellbeing.
In addition to success on three occasions being selected by IGPOTY to have images included in their annual exhibition I've also recently had success in being recognised by CUPOTY (Close up Photographer of the Year) in 2020 and 2021, and by Earth Photo in 2020 (organised by the Royal Geographical Society and Forestry England). I've also had a series of Woodland Images selected by the Science Museum (London) as part of an Exhibition, Our Future Planet, highlighting the importance of forests in addressing the impacts of Climate Change (May 2021 - Sept 2022).
