This photograph was taken in Colorado during the autumn, when the aspen trees turn the most marvellous golden hue. Aspen are Colorado’s only widespread, native deciduous tree, and against their white trunks, the leaves shimmer in a magical way. There is no way of predicting exactly when the leaves will change colour, so much of the change is weather dependant and different areas change at different times; which is half the fun. Finding a magical glade at exactly the right time, really feels like a hard won prize.
