I was photographing the garden on a gorgeous June morning when I felt a drop hit my hand. At first I thought it was from an angry bird, but then I realised there was a tiny storm cloud up in the bright blue sky. I went up to the house to keep the camera dry, then turned around in the doorway to see fat raindrops hit the terrace as the sun poured through the maple. I rushed to set up a tripod at a low angle and got off four shots before the rain stopped.
