This image of a Hampshire garden in autumn was shot from a first floor window which enabled me to connect the wonderful New Perennial inspired planting inside the walled garden with the wider landscape of arable farming outside it.

Created by the immensely talented gardener Gillian Pugh, it's a garden I shot many times and was one of my favourite late summer and autumn subjects because of the wealth of grasses and late season herbaceous perennials Gillian so skillfully wove together.
