It was November when I took this photograph of an oak tree at the edge of a churchyard, right next to the village war memorial.
People had chosen to place their Remembrance Day crosses at the base of this tree rather than the official memorial, perhaps because of an instinctual and powerful emotional connection with the oak tree.
