About Patti Lamm
Patti is an emerging photographer with specialties including macro photography. Her flower image styles range from realistic to painterly to abstract. She uses numerous techniques to create her images while exploring a full range of focus choices including both selective focus and focus-stacking, depending on the subject and mood to be conveyed. Patti first became serious about studying photography in 2022. She has had more time to explore this new passion after retiring from her lifelong career as a mathematician. She earned her Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Brown University and spent the majority of her scientific career as a professor at Michigan State University. Other passions include theater (especially anything by Stephen Sondheim), swing dancing, and her family, including her wonderful grandchildren Bryce and Lainey.
