About Fiona Ruck

Leaving England as a teenager I travelled far and wide; living and working in Europe, North America, Africa and Asia. Working in major hotels, running a guesthouse in Bavaria, translating in Hong Kong and working for overseas magazines in research, photography and graphic design, whilst always exploring, studying and photographing a diverse range of cultures, people and nature. Although travel and people have always been a large part of my photography, for the past few years I specialise more on documenting and discovering the natural world - nature and wildlife - and continue to look for beauty which is all around us. In 2019 I traveled to South America, the Amazon and Antartica in search of different creatures and environments that I had not yet experienced or photographed. I have had many articles and photos published in various magazines. My third exhibition in Sydney will be shown in November 2020. Life is full of challenges and I certainly enjoy the discovery and capture of those unique moments in time and then gaining the knowledge and understanding of the what and the why of that which I have photographed.
