About Hestercombe Gardens
Winning images from the internationally acclaimed International Garden Photographer of the Year Competition (IGPOTY) will be taking centre stage at the world-class heritage gardens of Hestercombe this September.
This year’s exhibition is set to take root in the old tennis courts near the orchards of the Grade 1 landscape and gardens, originally designed by artist Coplestone Warre Bampfylde in the 1750s.
The exhibition will be displayed on the IGPOTY outdoor structure consisting of 12 panels. This will enable an exhibition of around 40 winning images from the competition’s 12th year; which will offer a rich and varied display for visitors. Hestercombe will be the only place during this period in Somerset that visitors will be able to see the exhibition.
Included in the exhibition is the highly original Abstract Views category, pushing the genre and expanding perceptions of nature. It also produced the overall winning image by Jill Welham entitled ‘Fireworks’, which will be on display at Hestercombe.
A varied selection of other award-winning images will be on display including some from The Beauty of Plants, Beautiful Gardens, Wildlife in the Garden and Trees, Woods & Forests categories.
