In Partnership with Blenheim Palace
After running well-received exhibitions for five consecutive years in 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 – IGPOTY and Blenheim Palace have partnered once again to offer this unique free-to-enter Special Award to celebrate the beauty of this extraordinary location.
Use photography to capture the enduring beauty of Blenheim Palace and the majesty of the 2,000 acre 'Capability' Brown designed landscape. This unique UNESCO World Heritage Site is a perfect location for all types of garden photography with several Sites of Special Scientific Interest, including the Great Lake and the ancient oaks in High Park. From secret gardens to open parkland, Blenheim Palace is a photographer’s dream.
Prizes & Why should I enter?
Prizes
First prize:
Your image goes on display at the IGPOTY Blenheim Palace exhibition (in 2024) and a signed individual certificate.
Prizes supplied by Blenheim Palace; Champagne afternoon tea for two, plus a Private Tour of Blenheim Palace and a Blenheim Palace hamper.
Second prize:
Your image goes on display at the IGPOTY Blenheim Palace exhibition (in 2024), plus signed individual certificate.
Third prize:
Your image goes on display at the IGPOTY Blenheim Palace exhibition (in 2024), plus signed individual certificate.
Applies to all winning places - IGPOTY will contact the awarded entrants as neccessary, for opt-in contact with Blenheim Palace, in order to facilitate prizes/exhibition events.
Rules
General rules:
- You may not submit watermarked images with your name or website visible on the photo. Please do not frame your images with borders.
- Entrants may submit a maximum of 4 images per single entry token and a maximum of 6 images per portfolio entry token.
- For free-to-enter competitions you should enter 1 image per token given, up to a maximum of 8 images (8 tokens).
- Entrants' images must be .jpg or .jpeg format and of high enough quality.
- We recommend all images are output to 1920px on their longest side at 72 ppi (ideally with an sRGB colour profile). Any larger than this and you are supplying images bigger than they will be seen or used by IGPOTY judges; your files will take longer to upload and/or download to judges and viewers’ screens.
- The absolute maximum for each image must not be more than 7MB in file size and no more than 3000px on their longest side.
- All entrants must be able to supply a high-res image (300 ppi) suitable for printing/exhibiting should the image be shortlisted. You may be asked for this when the time comes.
N.B.
- High-res source file/s need to be at least 3780 pixels (longest side) @ 300 ppi, ideally larger (and ideally with an Adobe RGB (1998) colour profile).

Category rules:
Only photography captured at Blenheim Palace and its grounds are permitted. Standard admission fees/booking may apply. Adults aged 18 years and older may enter only. Each adult entrant is entitled to a maximum of 8x free entry slots only. Beautiful Blenheim entries cannot win the overall IGPOTY prize. Staff of Blenheim Palace are excluded from entry, however volunteers may enter. Any images captured for this competition may not be sold and are only for your personal use. Prizes must be collected/redeemed in person at Blenheim Palace, no cash alternatives. Via opt-in permission, Blenheim Palace will contact winners to arrange any prizes, as necessary.

Who can enter?
This free-to-enter special award is open to everyone (adults only) and is a chance to explore and capture one of the world’s most famous landscapes and its hidden treasures through photography.
Selected winners will form part of an exclusive exhibition at the IGPOTY exhibition at Blenheim Palace in 2024 – please see the details of the exhibition below.
There will also be special prizes for first place including a Champagne Afternoon Tea and a private tour.
Staff of Blenheim Palace are excluded from entry, however volunteers may enter.
