Description
Just as the darkening skies and spots of rain threatened to spoil the rest of my day's photography in the garden, a young starling landed on the top of my feeding station. It lowered its wings, threw its head back, opened its beak and started to sing. It was cheering to see such irrepressible spirit in the face of a downturn in the weather. It said so much about the character of starlings.
