Description
Like some wonderful Pontormo mannerist Madonna, she stands just inside the entrance to the Princess of Wales Conservatory. The Conservatory is laid out in such a way that the visitor is propelled forwards. I turned around toward the entrance and waited and watched this beautiful guardian, but few people turned backwards to look at her.
