This image was taken towards the end of the summer in my back garden. I am very fond of poppies and had planted some earlier in the year along with some other flowers with the aim of photographing them when they came into bloom. I had tried on several occasions to get an interesting and slightly different image of the poppies but hadn't been particularly successful. Then one day towards the end of summer when a lot of the poppies had already gone to seed I managed to capture this image. The sunlight was just starting to fade when the sun’s rays caught my garden shed producing a gentle warm glow behind the flowers. This soft glow seemed to complement the flowers in the foreground and I was delighted with the resulting picture.
