Description

'The Dark Hedges', the real name of which is Bregagh Road, is an avenue of Beech trees planted in the 18th Century by the Stuart family with the intention of impressing visitors as they approached the entrance to their home, Gracehill House. I am in awe of this road.

The natural beauty of the trees and how they hold each other along the road, I often think that the trees knew why they were planted, to impress. They have followed that task to this day!

I have wanted to capture the road in black and white for quite some time now as I feel the monotones really highlight the tunnel that so beautifully overhangs the road.
