This flower is well known locally as sea breeze; however it is also referred to as beach fleabane and seaside daisy (Erigeron glaucus) and is part of the daisy family. It flowers in abundance on the Isle of Portland in early summer, usually in large clusters in the same location as it is a perennial.

The flower looks amazing under the late spring blue skies. Portland also has incredibly dark skies facing out to the English Channel, and this image has tried to show the beauty of the flower under starlight.
