About Nick Upton
I mostly create photo stories that document major UK conservation projects, but also do a lot of garden wildlife photography to show how important gardens can be for wildlife.
I'm a biologist by training, produced wildlife films for 25 years for the BBC and many other broadcasters, and have concentrated on wildlife stills/videography since 2012. I've had a highly commended portfolio at IGPOTY and won the Documentary Series category of the British Wildlife Photography Awards in 2014 and 2016 and the Conservation Documentary Award at the Bird Photographer of the Year contest in 2020.
