About Jo Stephen
I am a self taught photographer living in rural north Dorset. I studied ecology and wildlife conservation at university and took up a camera after a career as a glassblower came to an end. My photography documents my love of and relationship with the landscape and wildlife around my home.
I currently shoot with a Sony A58 and a collection of second hand and vintage lenses, often making my own filters. My work is created on a very small budget. I am a keen amateur botanist and enjoy spending as much time as possible in the local woods, meadows and field margins searching for plants.
I use multiple exposure and intentional camera movement in my photography but also enjoy documenting wild flowers and pollinators in a more traditional manner.
