My heart is American and my soul is European. Since 2014, my main focus has been on writing in general, including working on a picture book series "Flaushi the Buddha Jay" for children of all ages. The series is inspired by my dear little feathered and furry friends on and around my enchanted Hamburgian terrace.  Thanks to the real-life characters of my picture book series, I have also delved into the magical world of nature photography during the past year. My stream of images on Flickr has evolved into a pretty extensive blog where I address environmental issues besides weaving in important facts and figures about the local garden wildlife. I use different voices and styles for the backstories and usually upload a handful of images each week along with the appropriate backstories as they relate to the actual picture book series. All shots are taken handheld with my little Panasonic DMC-TZ61 camera and neither edited nor processed in any manner.
