On this particular winter morning I awoke to heavy snow and a cold but incredible atmosphere. The soft pastel tones of sunrise filled the Arctic sky and not a breath of wind moved the branches.

We raced to the nearby Reine View lookout and were greeted with beautiful reflections on the fjord. I couldn't settle on a composition from the lookout, so I hastily climbed down the steep, slippery cliff across icy rocks and through deep snow drifts. I tried a number of different positions until I discovered this stunning vantage point from on top of a large boulder.
