Cambo's walled garden is a dream for photographers, largely thanks to the prairie-inspired plantings of former Head Gardener Elliott Forsyth.

In this image pink Sanguisorba and Persicaria mix with the tawny remains of Monarda and Echinops, while the bold maroon leaves of Ricinus communis 'Impala' are just starting to show. Working handheld, I stood on a low wall so I could look down and fill the frame with the carpet of delightful plants.
