Description
I have been experimenting with this technique over the last year for taking pictures of flowers or leaves underwater. For this photograph, I submerged crocuses picked from my garden in a small fishtank filled with water, positioned on a windowsill to make the most of natural light. After a few hours, bubbles of air started to form on the flowers. I was then able to start taking photos, using a macro lens, tripod, and desk lamps for extra light (if required). I love experimenting with different flowers, lighting, backgrounds and depth of field to obtain an appealing image. For this photograph I used a sheet of yellow paper behind the tank to provide a contrasting background.
