I often visit the estate, whether to take photographs or to just go for a walk. On the preceding evening I heard that the temperature would fall to an unseasonal low. The area around the river is a frost pocket, leading to even cooler conditions than its surroundings. I was inspired to set my alarm clock very early, pack all my photography gear and head off in the dark in the hope of finding a frosty and misty scene around the weir. I was not disappointed. The perfect start to a Saturday morning!
