My family and I were visiting the Daintree Rainforest from nearby Cairns on a recent holiday in Australia. The station was awash with the sight and smell of beautiful flora and sounds of tropical creatures. Some of the plants were in pots on the platform, and other vegetation was from the rainforest that surrounds the station. This mass of greenery turned the concrete platform into a tropical paradise. The growth of vegetation was so vigorous that it was almost entirely covering the platform sign. The platform looked so welcoming, and the bench in the middle was inviting you to come and sit down and wait a while. This was possibly the only train station I have visited where I would not have minded if the train was delayed.
