A field of Arrow-leaf balsamroot (Balsamhoriza sagittata) and Common paintbrush (Castilleja miniata) overlook the Hood River Valley and Mount Hood near sunset. I’ve been up this ridge for walks a number of times, but I always wanted to catch it in spring with the wildflowers in bloom and Mount Hood in view near sunset. A number of trips were made to this location to catch it in the right light, and this ridge can be quite windy, but there was little wind the day I took this image.
