When I arrived at this small village, I found myself faced with an almost unreal spectacle of nature, the plain studded with as many colours as a painter's canvas. It was early morning and the haze gave way to an ethereal light, from which small flames of colour appeared. The landscape was changing minute by minute. Following my instinct, I produced this photograph which for me is painting by photography. I waited three years to do this. I took the time to find a good moment and weather, and travelled 1200km all in 36 hours.
