Tuscan Poppies

Description
In May, the Val d'Orcia (a UNESCO World Heritage Site) in central Italy, is known as a haven for landscape photographers. You see wildflowers everywhere but if you're really lucky, then you'll get a field of poppies.
Having scouted out the area with a friend we were ecstatic to come across this field, overlooking one of the famous farmhouses. I set about finding the focal length I needed, and settled on a 50 mm tilt-shift lens plus a 1.4x extender. Using the tilt I was able to bring the focus from the foreground to the background. I merged two exposures together (one of the foreground, with one of the sky).
