In Balrath Woods, Ireland there is a very unique tree – this majestic old beech tree known as The Great Beech, is the oldest in the Woods, estimated to be about 200 years old. Nature has graced this giant’s body with ornate sculptural forms, while the land around this living relic has become higher than its surroundings, giving The Great Beech a majestic status, as if sitting on a throne. This photo was taken using auto bracketing in-camera, to produce a HDR photo.
