Malakei was one of the inhabitants of a sanctuary for old, sick and disabled dogs, most of them rescued from terrible shelters and killing stations. Here he is taking a rest in the sanctuary's garden. It is very important to me to portray the dogs as they are and how they feel in the moment – never posed!

Malakei is one of those dogs that are very photogenic and have a strong charisma, in the photograph he seems to be aware of this.
