This photo, represents one of the most memorable outings I've ever had, and was captured in the middle of the August 2022 heatwave in the UK – I thought the air would be far too dry for any mist to form. I also wasn't expecting much colour from the sunrise. I was amazed by the conditions, and the way the light caught in the clouds and mist, setting off the colour in the heather too. I worked hard on the composition, and ended up framing the silver birch sapling in the crook of the hills.
