I was first mesmerised by Peter Korn and his great passion for growing plants at a Beth Chatto conference, where he showed his original home garden. So, when I saw this new garden and had the opportunity to shoot it, I jumped at the chance. I spent a couple of days here on the site of Peter Korn and Julia Andersson's pioneering nursery and gardens, as always, waiting for the light.

It was one of those gardens, when experienced alone with the beauty of sunrise, was almost overwhelming. The diversity of plants was astonishing, and all are grown in sand, without irrigation. I tried to capture as much detail as I could, as it's amazing both as a landscape and when looking at the finer planting combinations.
