At the tail end of autumn, bright leaves were still clinging to the branches of an interestingly shaped tree in Richmond Park. Layering multiple exposures in-camera, one sharp photo of the tree with a vertical ICM (intentional camera movement) photo of the scene created an unusual backdrop; with the vibrant leaves and tangled branches dramatic against the blurred background.

The drama was reinforced by cooling the background colours, and then adding a painterly treatment for a more stylised effect, creating a fairy-tale impression with a welcoming red glow.
