Ghost Fungi
Macro ArtImage details - Ghost Fungi
Description
These are ghost fungi – Omphalotus nidiformis, a bioluminescent and poisonous species of fungi, which can be saprotrophic or parasitic, photographed here in the light of a full moon. I blended two exposures together to make this image, one exposed for the fungi at 60 seconds (a long exposure is required to bring out the full green colour), and the other for the moon and sky at 4 seconds.
