This photo is taken on one of Tasmania's highest mountains, called an Abel as it is above 1,100 m high. It was early December, but (as usual) there had been snow only the day before. Summer foliage and flowers had yet to hit these high regions, but still the colours provided by the special light that is Tasmanian, combined with the warm colours of the winter forms of the flora – which made plenty enough colour for me.

Clouds to the west formed a natural spotlight on this group of plants beside the summit, where I pitched my tent and watched the light in the gale-force winds.
