The beaches at Studland are usually full of visitors during August, but get there early enough and you can have the place more or less to yourself. Just behind Knoll Beach is an impressive stretch of dunes, on which heather flowers in mid to late August. Once the rising sun started to light the dunes, I composed a shot with the heather filling the foreground, against the backdrop of Old Harry Rocks.
