The Canossa gullies have always been one of my favourite destinations. I searched for the perfect conditions for a decade to take this photo, with the clouds rising and falling through these blades of rock. On one of these blades stands a tree, in precarious balance. It reminds us how nature today is in the same situation and on the edge of the abyss, but despite this, nature resists, and hope remains. I removed some small trees from the top of the frame.
