The majestic dignity emanating from the Malus hupehensis (tea crab apple tree), in Hermannshof garden is beyond compare. At almost 100 years old, this impressive specimen is probably one of the largest of its kind in Germany. This spring I was able to capture it in full bloom, shining in the evening light. The flowering Chinese lilac on the left (also of considerable size), underlines the enormous dimensions of the crab apple tree.
