Valeriana rubra (red valerian) thrives on Suffolk's shingle beaches, merrily seeding its way into some very photogenic nooks and crannies, and bringing a glorious swathe of summer colour. You have to be up very early to catch them bathed in the first light of the day, but it's worth it.
