Sorbus aucuparia is the botanical name for the rowan tree (also known as keirn or cuirn), which is pictured here - clinging on to the very hill edge, in the breathtaking landscape, at Quiraing on the Isle of Skye. I captured this shot between heavy rain showers, on a windy day in autumn; the tree was abound with berries and about to show its autumn colour.
