Taken on a cold and wet winter's day, this solitary tree sits beside the estuary that leads up towards Chichester in one direction and Emsworth in the other. The grey, overcast sky and the shape of the tree, bereft of all of its leaves, led to this monochrome image. It was shot from just above the water level with a wide-angle lens, to capture the rain hitting the water and accentuated the attractive shape of this lonesome tree.
