About Seamus A. Ryan

I am a fine art still life photographer and teacher. I have shot with Polaroid 20x24 inch, and do shoot with 10x8, 5x4, medium format, DLSR, pinhole and Scanography. I shoot mainly with diffuse daylight but have a comprehensive range of professional studio flash and print all of my own digital work up to 24 inches wide on my Epson 7900 printer, anything larger and I get it printed by The Print Space. I print in Platinum/Palladium and Cyanotype and  am also an accomplished darkroom printer having been trained by award winning printer Melvin Cambettie Davies.I teach private workshops, give talks and workshops at camera clubs and have taught A-Level, GCSE and Adult Learning courses for Kent Adult Education for more than 5 years.


I am currently represented for Licensing by Art Press London and for print sales by the Atlas Gallery London. I also sell prints directly from my website. I was previosly represented by The Stephanie Hoppen Gallery London, The Photographers Gallery London, The June Bateman Gallery New York and the White Space Gallery Los Angeles.My work is in many private and corporate/public collections and has been exhibited in solo and group shows and at AIPAD, Photo LA, AAF Battersea and Photo London art fairs.Five images has been licensed by IKEA worldwide for sale as Art Prints and additional works have been used as set decoration in movie and TV series in both the UK and US.My work regularly appears in both photography and lifestyle/interiors magazines.A monograph, Involuntary Sculptures, of my work was Published in 2004
