Francesco Russo was born in Grugliasco near Turin in 1963.As a boy photography was his passion. With many sacrifices he bought his first reflex camera in 1978, he began taking photos, developing and printing in his basement with an old Krokus enlarger.Despite being a self-taught person he was able to obtain good results, always finishing among the first places of each contest in which he took part.Later, as often it happens to boys, for little known reasons he abandoned his passion and devoted to a variety of other interests.It was only in 2012 that, walking in front of a shop window where a Canon camera was displayed, the spark was rekindled. He didn't think twice about it, he bought his reflex camera and happily went home. When he opened the package he realized how many years had passed since he had held a Reflex and he thus faced with a whole new world, left with the old film rolls and found it back with SDs ......The impact was not easy to overcome, it meant having to start all over again and the will began to fail at a certain age. After several months of doubts and misgivings he decided to dedicate and deepen this new "world" of digital photography.The results of his work and his passion are collected on his website www.frpix.com. Whether it's photos taken in places full of awesomeness, like Iceland or Norway, landscapes rich in colors as Castelluccio di Norcia, or the hills near home of his region, Marche, the common denominator is the desire to tell something special maintaining the intrinsic and peculiar beauty of the visited places, respecting their identity, just by adding the value of a heart beating for what the eye sees through the camera.Today Francesco Russo is a photographer highly regarded on the web, he works with many other professionals in various fields of photography and he organizes photographic trips to various regions of Europe. Many of his works have been awarded in several national and international contests and some museums display some of his photos. He collaborates with photo agencies and his pictures are regularly published in many international magazines. In the 2017 he is in the short list of "Sony World Photography Awards" .
