About Anna Booth
My photography is based upon my way of seeing the world. I am attracted to the mundane, or often overlooked, and try to imbue some meaning, beauty or even humour. The photographs are often parts of subjects, sometimes abstract. I try to find pattern, texture, colour and unusual juxtapositions in both the landscape and the townscape.I use equipment ranging from a phone to a large format 5x4 Ebony camera, but often these days use my Sony A7RIV, with a Mirex tilt and shift adapter. This can slow me down - a modern interpretation of the large format camera!
I have no formal qualifications but have undertaken study in darkroom, alternative processes, including cyanotype, platinum palladium, photogravure, photopolymer and printmaking. I have been taught over many years by landscape photographers Joe Cornish and David Ward, who have been generous with their knowledge and experience.
