As a child, I remember reading children's stories that described flowers as having human characteristics and attributes. This portfolio attempts to illustrate this photographically, using the technique of shooting from different angles (through 360 degrees) and combining the resulting shots. I removed excess stalks to provide the characters with recognisable 'legs', but usually that was the only manipulation.

I felt it important that the results be as unmanipulated as was practical. It was interesting to see how random blending of images could produce a recognisable 'character'. The flowers used were mostly varieties of tulip and daffodil and the names of each ‘character’ are as follows; Glamorous, Flirty, Heroic, Lively, Immovable, Old-fashioned.
