About

Dyffryn Gardens is an elegant garden oasis on the outskirts of Cardiff in South Wales undergoing an ambitious revival under the stewardship of the National Trust. IGPOTY is proud and delighted to be bringing award-winning exhibition content to the gardens on our outdoor structure and we will also be displaying a simultaneous exhibition inside the hall making it one of the largest exhibitions IGPOTY has shown to date! Visitors will have the opportunity to see some of the finest Edwardian gardens in Wales. The gardens at Dyffryn span more than 55 acres. They include a plethora of formal & informal garden rooms, formal lawns, stunning water features and an extensive arboretum. At the heart of the gardens is a Victorian Mansion, featuring a grand Great Hall with a magnificent stained-glass window overlooking the front lawn. The present house was built by a wealthy coal merchant, John Cory, in 1893. John’s son, Reginald, was a great horticultural enthusiast who commissioned the gardens at Dyffryn, collaborating with the renowned garden designer, Thomas Mawson. Following the First World War, the Dyffryn estate fell into disrepair. Since a National Trust takeover in 2013, however, a project has been underway to restore this estate to its former glory....
