Originally the family home of Henry Lyte, where he translated the unique Niewe Herball book on herbal remedies, Lytes Cary was then lovingly restored in the 20th century by Sir Walter Jenner. The 'garden rooms' contain a magical collection of topiary and herbaceous borders, while tranquil walks on the estate take you along the River Cary. Dyffryn Gardens is an elegant garden oasis on the outskirts of Cardiff in South Wales undergoing an ambitious revival under the stewardship of the National Trust. IGPOTY is proud and delighted to be bringing award-winning exhibition content to the gardens on our outdoor structure and we will also be displaying a simultaneous exhibition inside the hall making it one of the largest exhibitions IGPOTY has shown to date! Visitors will have the opportunity to see some of the finest Edwardian gardens in Wales. The gardens at Dyffryn span more than 55 acres. They include a plethora of formal & informal garden rooms, formal lawns, stunning water features and an extensive arboretum. At the heart of the gardens is a Victorian Mansion, featuring a grand Great Hall with a magnificent stained-glass window overlooking the front lawn. The present house was built by a wealthy coal merchant, John Cory, in 1893. John’s son, Reginald, was a great horticultural enthusiast who commissioned the gardens at Dyffryn, collaborating with the renowned garden designer, Thomas Mawson. Following the First World War, the Dyffryn estate fell into disrepair. Since a National Trust takeover in 2013, however, a project has been underway to restore this estate to its former glory.... IGPOTY Exhibition 13 is coming to Sheringham Park Wander through Sheringham Park and you'll discover why it became the personal favourite of its designer, Humphry Repton. Visit the return of the ever-popular annual IGPOTY outdoor exhibition to see a selection of stunning large format winning images in a glorious outdoor setting. Famous for its vast collection of Rhododendron and Azalea, the last owner, Tom Upcher held Rhododendron champagne parties in the '50s to show them off. Ladies would arrive in their fine gowns, some wearing Wellington boots to walk down the main carriageway, sipping champagne and admiring the colours. Today, you can climb to the top of the towers to experience breathtaking views of this beautiful landscape, the North Norfolk coast and maybe spot a steam train passing through. Spend a day at Sheringham Park - exploring 1,000 acres of varying habitat including woodland, parkland and clifftop.
