This scene unfolds on summer mornings when I step out onto our terrace. The mist follows the river and creates a very special atmosphere, and the light at this time of year is often so magical that I just had to think of molten gold. The border features Pennisetum orientale ‘Tall Tails’, Verbena bonariensis, Stipa gigantea, Kniphofia, roses and Hemerocallis. I was just completely mesmerised by the light and knew instantly that this would be a special image. It's important to have a good eye for the right light, to know when the moment has come and to be there.
