Description
To get a picture we want is never a question of pure technical skill for serendipity plays an essential part. Here was a case of right place at the right time: I was driving to my home when I noticed a field with numerous yellow tulip flowers (Tulipa sylvestris). It was almost sunset and the sun was to about to disappear behind the hills. I quickly decided to create a backlit, wide vision of the scene by using a diagonal fisheye lens together with a couple of flash guns to throw light into shadow areas of the foreground The photo was taken in a wheat field, the shallow ploughing does not damage the bulbs and allows the reproduction of the species.
