Rainy Streets
Greening the CityImage details - Rainy Streets
Description
It was raining quite heavily, so the pavements and roads were scattered with puddles. I found the right spot, and waited for the right moment. After a while I noticed an umbrella with the colours that matched the colours of the reflected trees. Then I only had to wait until the passer-by walked straight into the picture. Victoria Embankment is a mile long avenue on the north side of the Thames lined with beautiful mature plane trees. Plane trees were planted all over the city because of their ability to soak in pollution from the air. They survive and soak up the toxic fumes of car fuel and are often referred to as the green lungs of the city.
