Description
This avenue of trees reminds me of a tall Cathedral nave, where tree trunks form rows of columns and branches arrange themselves in elaborate candelabra. Light shines through leaves as if through stained glass windows, and people can feel calm and relaxed. I thought I could still feel the medieval atmosphere of a 13th century priory where black-hooded Augustinian monks welcomed you on your pilgrimage from Winchester to Salisbury. This shot was taken from quite a low view point to emphasize the height of the trees.
