This little scene in the darkest part of this forest immediately spoke to me, as this angled tree appears to be supported by others. Unfortunately, lots of beech trees in this forest are falling and it is hard to tell a story which does not become a story of desperation. I choose to find hope and life in the decay, which has become an overarching theme in my work lately. This angled tree has a vibrant shimmer, because of the light that hits it and whilst the trees in the dark background are still standing up, this one looks the most alive of all of them.
