During a trek, in the winter cold of the Reggio Emilia Apennines, the woods, in the thaw, showed new colours in contrast with the freshly fallen snow, generating dashes of red with three solitary fir trees tinged with green.

I took this photo, because the red trees looked like brushstrokes in a painting, whilst the three solitary trees remain the subject, unchanged over time.
